Some stories don’t have happy endings and unfortunately, it seems the Louisiana oil rig explosion may be one of them.
The Coast Guard reported that oil is leaking from the damaged well. Officials estimated up to 1,000 barrels of oil is escaping from the well head (located on the ocean floor) every day. This comes after a brief bit of relief yesterday, when officials said there was no sign of oil leaking at all.
Oh, and there’s more bad news. The search for the 11 missing workers has been called off. It would seem they are presumed to be dead and the focus is now placed on stopping the oil leak and getting the whole mess cleaned up.
